Instructions to enable the Cepheo Estimator metrics

After the Cepheo Estimator Metrics solution has been installed in a Production or sandbox environment you need to enable the product license, deploy the cubes, and set up user access, the steps below will help with this process.

The Estimator metrics are only available in a sandbox environment, it uses an embedded Power BI workspace which is not available in one-box environments
Enable the license

Login to the D365 FO environment, your account must have the System Administrator role.

Navigate to Cepheo® > Tools > Setup > Foundation shared parameters in the Modules menu

Select Activate installed models and OK to synchronise with the Cepheo licensing server.

If the license letter has not been setup on our license server you will need to submit your Serial number for registration.

Deploy the cubes

The metrics workspace uses 3 new analytical cubes that are deployed to the D365 Data Warehouse. Navigate to the Entity Store System Administration > Setup > Entity Store

Select Edit and enable the Automatic refresh of each of the Cepheo cubes.

Once enabled the batch job Full reset will update the cubes, this batch job is set to run every 5 minutes.

In a UAT environment, the Full reset batch job is likely in a withhold status and must be changed to waiting

User access

The Metrics solution is deployed with its own security role, duties, and privileges. There are various ways to enable user access using the D365 security framework, this is 1 method. Navigate to the Users view System Administration > Users > User and select the user needing access.
