Advanced quality associations with ref type different from ‘Quality sample’

Dawid Kaczmarek Updated by Dawid Kaczmarek

In addition to creating a quality order, it is possible for the adv. quality association to create a sample instead of or simultaneously, by checking the field ‘Create sample’ under field groups creation parameters. This is of course disabled, if the quality association is of the reference type ‘Samples’, as the registration of a sample should not trigger the taking of another sample.

Samples can be registered in lab using the menu button in the Sample form, or automatically at creation, if the parameter [Automatically register sample in lab] is selected, resulting in possible creation of an advanced quality order based on a quality sample, if there is a setup of the reference type ‘Quality sample’ for the current trigger point (see 4.14):

In the group ‘Quality order/Sample creation criteria’ it is possible to trigger the creation according to a frequency instead of every time the association is fulfilled. This is enabled by selecting ‘Use extended creation criteria’.

The field ‘Sequence type’ decides what we count:

  • If it is set to ‘Batch’, the count is on a batch ID independent of the product. This is designed for the production of bulk items, where a single product is manufactured (e.g., orange juice) and the batch is then bottled into various sizes with batch number inheritance. This setting only makes sense, however, if the item code is set to group and a quality group with the same containerized items of the same bulk product in various sizes is created.
  • If the value is set to ‘Product’, the count is on triggers for the product ID independently of the batch numbers
  • If the value is ‘Batch-Product’, the count is on triggers for the combination of Product and Batch number.

Quality group and frequencies.

As mentioned above the field "item code" at the top of an Advanced Quality Association can be set to table, group or all.

If set to table it is only one specific item which triggeres the Advanced Quality Association.

If it is set to group, you can create a quality group containing a number of items.

If set to all, any item will trigger the Advanced Quality Association if the other criterias are met.

It is important to note that that the way the frequency is counted when setting the "item code" to "group" is at the time of registration. Adding or removing items to the quality group will take effect at the next registration.
