Calculate capitalized interest (PREVIEW)

To use this functionallity the following feature must be enabled:

New Options in the Parameters Form

After enabling the feature, a new set of configuration fields appears on the Parameters form:

Project Category

Category used when posting the journal.

Prefix

Prefix inherited by the journal. Automatically includes project ID, month, and year.

Project Manager

Role required if Project Managers are allowed to calculate interest on their own projects.

Journal Name

Journal used for posting. Recommendation: Set a fixed account to avoid manual selection after each journal creation.

Rounding Type

Choose your preferred rounding method.

Minimum Amount

Threshold to exclude very small calculated amounts.

Line Limit

Improves performance when journals may include many lines.

Emergency Edit

Allows deletion of calculated transactions (not journals). Use only when necessary. Should remain off during normal operation.

Project Groups

Defines which Project Groups the wizard should include when searching for new transactions.

Interest Rates

Set rates for the period (per month rates) if not set, it will use default value from the parameter

Mapping

If the project requires more detailed posting than the standard category posting, this matrix allows you to define additional posting dimensions. You can configure posting rules toward Activity, Line Property, Resource, or an alternative Category.

This ensures that posting follows the project’s specific setup when it differs from the general Project Management and Accounting configuration.

Log

Provides an overview of when the wizard was executed, who ran it, and the corresponding timestamps.

Wizard

If you are a Project Manager (and have the role defined in the Parameters form), the wizard will automatically filter to show only your own projects. Administrators will see all projects by default.

Select the period for which the wizard should check for uncalculated transactions. Only past periods can be selected. The wizard can be run as many times as needed within an open period. However, once a new period has been processed, all previous periods become locked.

If transactions are posted into a period that has already been closed, interest must be posted manually, as closed periods cannot be recalculated.

Creating and posting Journals

Journals are generated based on the transactions identified by the wizard. From this page, you can create and post the journals directly.

All generated journals are also visible in the Project Journal form for the respective project, allowing you to review and manage them in the standard project journal workspace.

Posting Overview

Shows an overview of what has been posted, including how the opening and closing balances are derived based on the interest postings.

External item lookup

Possible to now use external item lookup on procurement, but needs to be enabled on parameter form

then on the procurement form on the item drop down a new option will be available
