Batch information display for reservation

When carrying out reservation for products that are batch controlled, Dynamics365 differentiates the user dialog based on the storage dimension for products setup as warehouse products (WHS), and products not set up as warehouse products (WMS).

The user can choose to reserve, using different approaches: Reservation or Batch reservation. Reservation using Batch display information can be done from a lot of places within the Dyn365, not only for sales order lines like in the examples below, but also for production/batch orders and project consumption.

The different dialogs (forms) are described below.

Reservation

For Non WHS product the form opening is the form [InventOnhandReserve]. This form presents the current on-hand for the product and give the possibility to use the features for presenting and controlling the Batch information display, using the menu [Batch information display].

The usage and user options for batch information display are the same as for the on-hand forms, described in section 4.4.

For WHS product the form opening is the form [WHSInventOnhandReserve]. If Batch number is included in the active dimensions, this form presents the available on-hand for the product and give the possibility to use the features for controlling the Batch information display, using the menu.

The Batch information display features for this form will only be available for WHS products that are setup with a reservation hierarchy setup as "Batch Above".

The usage and user options for Batch information display are the same as for the on-hand forms, described in section 4.4.

Batch reservation

For Non WHS products the form opening is the form [PdsBatchAttribReserve]. This form presents the current on-hand for the product and offers the possibility to use the features for controlling the Batch information display, using the menu.

For WHS products the form opening is the form [WHSBatchAttribReserve]. If Batch number is included in the active dimensions, this form presents the current on-hand for the product and offers the possibility to use the features for controlling the Batch information display, using the menu.

This form will only be available for WHS products that have a reservation hierarchy setup as "Batch Above".
