What is the Cepheo ESG and Compliance module?

A concise overview of packaging sustainability and traceability

What the module is

Cepheo ESG and Compliance Platform is an extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations that connects packaging sustainability data with operational business processes. It enables organizations to define packaging materials and weight, including composed materials, connect materials to packaging definitions, maintain primary-packaging rules for imported and produced items, and record packaging usage through production and shipping processes.

Prerequisite: A PREREQUISITE FOR USING THIS MODULE IS THAT CEPHEO SHIPPING PACKAGING MANAGEMENT IS INSTALLED AND ACTIVE.

This dependency is important because the ESG module builds on the packaging definitions, packaging groups, shipping notes, and operational package registrations provided by Shipping Packaging Management. The ESG module enriches those records with material composition, quantities, weight, units, supplier compliance information, and transaction traceability.

What it helps users do

  • Create a governed master list of simple and composed packaging materials.
  • Connect packaging material, quantity, and unit to package definitions.
  • Describe the primary packaging of purchased and produced products.
  • Calculate and review packaging associated with production and customer shipments.
  • Trace shipping-note quantities back to relevant inventory source transactions.
  • Classify suppliers according to the organization’s packaging-compliance procedure.
  • Use operational inquiries and standard export options as source data for analysis and compliance work.

Positioning

The module provides a practical data and traceability foundation inside Dynamics 365. It supports packaging compliance work by making packaging information structured, reusable, and connected to transactions. It does not itself perform a complete legal assessment, automatically certify PPWR compliance, calculate carbon emissions, or produce every statutory declaration or report. Organizations remain responsible for their compliance decisions, supporting evidence, and regulatory submissions.
