Packaging filters and overview

Dawid Kaczmarek Updated by Dawid Kaczmarek

All packaging information shown in fact boxes, are only calculated temporary when the fact boxes are visible in the forms. The type and quantity of calculated packaging for orders is not accessible as real data. If that is wanted, packaging filters can be setup together with a periodic batch job.

This section is describing how to setup and utilize that feature.

Packaging quantity filter

In the Inventory management module, packaging quantity filters can be setup to calculate type and quantity of packaging for different areas within sales.

The form can be found in [Inventory management / Shipping packaging management – Packaging quantities filters]

Packaging typeOutermost: Calculate for the one type of packaging that hold other types of packaging. Example: Packaging is setup to handle products in boxes, the boxes is put onto pallets. In this case the calculation will count for the pallet only. A way to use this could be to setup a specific ‘dummy’ packaging type called e.g., ‘Pallets spaces’ that is always the outermost packaging in all setups on products and in this way, you are getting shown the number of pallet spaces used for the orders, shipments or loads depending on the area value chosen.Outermost: Calculate for the one type of packaging that hold other types of packaging. One example could be to include only sales orders assigned with a confirmed shipment date from today and 5 days ahead from system date, as shown in the figure below:

The filter can be configured like any other filter and will be saved with the filter ID to be used when the [Run filter] job is being executed manually or as a recurrence job in the background (setup as Batch job).

The form can be filtered and information of total number of records and total qty of packaging is updated according to the filter being used.

The filters can be added to a selected workplace, like in the below example where 3 tiles are added to the workspace “Sales order processing and inquiry”

When using a tile to access the data, the form will show data according to the filter used by the tile. In the form the data will have shortcut to order/load/shipment information relevant for the record.
