Set up a mobile device menu item for registering or adding test results

Cepheo Sample and Quality Management enables registration of test results for generated advanced quality orders independently of purchase order receiving or production order reporting as finished. Two activity codes are available that enable registration of test results for the specified advanced quality order.

  1. Register test result - use this code to enter a single test result for a test, regardless of the number of units to be tested.
  2. Add test results - use this code to enter multiple test results for the same test within the same advanced quality order.

Register test result

To enable registration of test results for an advanced quality order, create a menu item with Register test results selected in the Activity code field, as shown below:

For example, register a test result for an advanced quality order where the sample size is 3 units, as shown below:

After selecting the appropriate menu item in the mobile app and entering the AQO number, the user is able to provide the test result:

The screen displays the list of tests for the selected advance quality order, along with indicators showing whether results have been entered for each test -> Incomplete if result is not provided.

After pressing the key for a specific test, enter the test result (only one result), which will be assigned to all units. In the example below, the test result entered is 5, this result was assigned to all units that were to be tested.

Extending the Register test results menu item

To use the extended functionality when registering test results in the WMS mobile app, the Register test results menu item must be configured to allow manual control of the quality order process. If this menu item is not turned ON, the additional actions (such as manual Validate, manual Clear, and improved navigation) will not be available to the user. Enabling this parameter changes the behavior of the Register test results menu item giving the user more manual control during test result registration.

When this parameter is enabled for the menu item Register test results, the WMS mobile app changes its behavior for that specific menu item only. The mobile app does not evaluate whether the following settings are enabled or disabled on the Advanced Quality Order:

  • Auto validate priority one lines
  • Auto validate advanced quality order
  • Relate phase to status
  • Validation is always performed manually by the user from the mobile app.
  • Advanced Quality Orders validated from the mobile app will always derive their phase directly from the Advanced Quality Order status.
  • The user has full control to review, correct or clear the process before validation.
Additional options for test result entry when MDMI parameter has been enabled

When entering test results in the WMS mobile app, the following new actions and behaviors provide more control and flexibility to users:

  • Validate: A Validate button lets you manually confirm and finalize the Advanced Quality Order after all required test results have been entered. Press Validate to validate and close the quality order. (Note: The app allows full validation only when every test in the order has a result.)
  • Validate priority one lines: If the quality order contains tests marked as Priority 1, the mobile app provides an additional Validate priority one lines button. This button is shown only after results have been entered for all Priority 1 tests. It allows you to validate those critical tests without closing the entire order:
    • All test results entered: When results exist for all tests, two buttons are available: Validate priority one lines and Validate. You can:
      • Select Validate priority one lines first and then select Validate, or
      • Select Validate directly to complete the entire order in one step.
    • Only Priority 1 results entered: If only Priority 1 tests are completed and other tests are still pending, Validate priority one lines is available while Validate is not. The Advanced Quality Order remains open and waits for the remaining test results to be entered later.
  • No Automatic Validation: The system does not automatically validate or close a quality order when test results are entered. The mobile app waits for your confirmation, allowing you to review entries, correct mistakes, or exit the process without automatically completing the order.
  • Go Back: The Go Back button returns you to the Quality Order entry screen without triggering validation or other logic. Use this if you need to select a different quality order or step back in the process.
  • Cancel: The Cancel button returns you directly to the main menu of the WMS mobile app. It does not perform validation and does not delete entered data. Any test results already entered remain saved, and the quality order stays open until it is resumed and validated.
  • Clear: A Clear option is available on the individual test input screen. Use Clear to remove an entered test result if a mistake was made. This allows you to reset the input and re‑enter the correct value, for example if the wrong quality order was opened or an incorrect measurement was entered. The Clear option is only available while entering or editing a specific test result. Once you select Validate priority one lines or Validate (full validation), the Clear option is no longer available, because the test results are considered validated.

Add test result

To enable registration of test results for an advanced quality order, create a menu item with Add test results selected in the Activity code field, as shown below:

Additionally, the following must be configured:

  1. Manual test result quantity - must be set to YES
  2. Auto validated priority one lines - must be set to NO
  3. Auto validate advanced quality order - must be set to NO

These settings are assigned to the Test group, which serves as the basis for creating an advanced quality order, as shown below:

After selecting the appropriate menu item and scanning the advanced quality order number, the system enables entry of multiple test results, each time by pressing the appropriate test.

For example, three results have been provided, which are visible in the Results tab of the advanced quality order.

As shown in the example above, in this process the controlled quantity must be manually completed from the desktop application level. For more details, see the following link: Register test result using the Register test result form.
