Lookup form: the field is included in the lookup form that is used to push or pull data to the local companies. Please notice that at least one field must be selected.

The checkbox is automatically checked for selected fields on a Data table creation.

Replication type: Allows to control how field value is being copied to local companies. Basic settings are Local or Global. If a field is Local the value from the global company will be pushed the first time, and after that it can be altered in the local company following the rules of the standard D365FO security setup. If a field is set to Global the field is only editable from the global master data company (the legal entity setup in the parameters form). There are also two advanced types: Global dimension attributes and Group-specific replication.

Exception: For Data field name ‘Default dimension’, the Replication type Global dimension attributes is also available for selection. See chapter ‘Global dimension attributes’ for details

Create item dimension: instructs the Cepheo GDM to replicate missing item dimensions for data field name InventDimId. This should only be enabled if item dimensions are maintained in the global company.

Skip validation: instructs the Cepheo GDM not to call the validate field method upon insert or update.

Skip field: exclude the field in the update. The value in the field in the global company will not be pushed to the local companies.

Owner: can be used to specify who is responsible for the GDM setup for that specific field e.g. finance department or similar.

Replication types

Replication of fields can be configured for different scenarios:

  • Local - when inserting, pushes the data from global company, but when updating, it keeps the local value
  • Global - always pushes global value to local company
  • Global dimension attributes - allows to choose Global/Local replication type to each of dimension attributes. This replication type is designed to be used on “DefaultDimension” fields
  • Group-specific replication - allows to choose Global/Local replication type separately for each Company Group, that the global record is being synchronized to. This type is working with any field.
Global dimension attributes
For Data field name DefaultDimension, the Replication type Global dimension attributes may be selected in order to manage which default dimensions for the record to be set from global company, and which to be set in local company. When this Replication type is selected, the Global dimension attributes button is made available:

This will open the Global dimension attributes form, where each individual dimension may be configured:

  1. Global
  2. Company group specific
  3. Company specific

In the Propagation mode, specify whether the default dimension should be copied from global record to the local record or not. This enables the possibility to configure default dimensions for each specific financial dimension be managed EITHER globally OR locally, differentiated per local company. The available Progagation mode values are

  • Copy: The default dimension value will always be copied to local company when parent record is pushed. Any changes made in local company will be overridden from global record.
  • Do not copy: The default dimension value will never be copied to local company when parent record is pushed, neither with initial push.

Note: When utilizing this feature, all financial dimensions which are available to the users should be configured.
