Functionality overview - Move sample type

The Move sample type functionality is designed for the physical relocation of sub-samples within the warehouse or laboratory using a mobile device. It ensures that the digital record of a sample’s location matches its physical position at all times.

This functionality allows users to modify physical dimensions (Site, Warehouse, and Location) for a selected portion of a sample. This portion is identified by the corresponding Quality sample type ID. For more details, refer to the figure below:

Configuration - Move sample type

The function is accessed via a mobile device menu item (Warehouse management > Setup > Mobile device > Mobile device menu item) configured with the activity code Move sample type in Indirect mode, as shown in the below figure:

Operational Process - Move sample type

The user initiates the process by typing or scanning the Sample type ID

After the system displays the current sample information, the user scans or enters the new destination dimensions: Site, Warehouse, and Location. Note: The system informs the user where the given sample type is currently located according to the system.

Upon clicking OK, the system updates the storage information for that specific sample type and returns to the initial screen to process the next unit
