Reporting quantity as finished from finished product

Dawid Kaczmarek Updated by Dawid Kaczmarek

When 'Reporting quantity as finished' for a FP production, using the automatic BOM consumption principle and posting, the consumption of next level product (Bulk) will automatically report the wanted product and quantity as finished, if a started production in the same mix pool as the FP, can output the wanted product.

A 'Bulk' product can be any BOM/Formula/Co-product that is used in another BOM/Formula and is not limited to be the product stated as the BULK product on a formula version.

More than one BOM line setup for automatic consumption, can be part of the same BOM/formula.

The same functionality for automatic 'Reporting as finished' will be available when manually posting a production order picking list journal, including a BOM line setup for "Automatic reporting as finished".

If multiple started production orders for the BP exists in the same production mix pool, the reporting as finished and consumption of BP will be done in order of the planned start for the Bulk Productions.

The functionality of 'Automatic report as finished' for bulk products, is not limited to only one level or one product. If BOM/formula lines for the bulk product itself is also setup for 'Automatic reporting as finished', this will be performed as well. There is no build-in limitations for the number of levels to setup.

If the FP is setup to use warehouse management processes (WHS), reporting as finished and allocation of license plate must be setup for the corresponding WHS elements.

The logic is a little different for batch-controlled items than for non-batch-controlled items due to the reservation logic.

If the bulk item is batch controlled, the reservation for bulk consumption from the order for the finished item will include Site + Warehouse + Batch-Id. When performing "Reporting as finished" for the finished product, the control for available on-hand for the picking list journal, will be done according to the reservation. If enough on-hand is available for the bulk batch-Id, the picking list journal will be posted. If available on-hand for the Batch-Id is insufficient, the automatic "Reporting as finished" for the bulk order will be performed for the quantity not covered by on-hand. This means that the automatic 'Reporting as finished' will not be able to consume available on-hand from other Batch-Id than the ones that are part of the reservation.

If the bulk item is non-batch controlled, the reservation for bulk consumption from the order for finished item will include only Site + Warehouse. When performing "Reporting as finished" for the finished product, the control for available on-hand for the picking list journal, will be done according to the reservation. If enough on-hand is available for the bulk item (on Site + Warehouse), the picking list journal will be posted. If available on-hand is insufficient, the automatic "Reporting as finished" for the bulk order will be performed for the quantity not covered by on-hand. This means that the automatic 'Reporting as finished' will not be able to consume available on-hand from other Site + Warehouse, as the ones that are part of the reservation.
