Forms with multiple datasources

If the form with specific data combines multiple datasources, by default, only the primary one can be pushed manually to local companies directly from the location. The other tables need to be pushed from the Global Data Management/Common/Management (under Record updates; See chapter ‘RECORD UPDATES’ for details).

The example would be Accounts payable parameters page, where fields from PurchParameters and VendParameters are available in one form. If PurchParameters table has been connected to the form, only updates to this table can be processed inside Accounts payabale parameters form. Also, only updates to this table would be visible under Record updates for this particular page. Processing/browsing updates for VendParameters would be available only in the GDM module’s table definition (Record updates page).

If a support for multiple data sources management is required on a form level, Multiple datasources on forms parameter needs to be turned on (GDM/Setup/GDM parameters).

With the parameter on, the layout of the Global Data Management tab will present all available (enabled in GDM) datasource options grouped under separate buttons, with Push/Pull and Record update browsing functions available.

Setting the parameter back to No will restore the original layout.

Note: support for multiple datasources on forms might have an impact on system’s performance. Unless it’s an indispensable option, the recommendation is to keep the default setting.
