Cepheo Quality and Sample Management extends the capabilities of Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management by enabling the execution of tasks related to handling samples and advanced quality order processing through the Warehouse management mobile app.

Cepheo Quality and Sample Management allows triggering the confirmation of sample collection and/or the registration of test results for selected menu items. In addition to this, new capabilities have been added to create dedicated menu items that support sampling and quality control processes.

The confirmation of sample collection and the registration of test results can be triggered for the following Work creation processes:

  1. Purchase order line receiving
  2. Purchase order line receiving and put away
  3. Purchase order item receiving
  4. Purchase order item receiving and put away
  5. License plate receiving
  6. License plate receiving and put away
  7. Mixed license plate receiving
  8. Mixed license plate receiving and put away
  9. Transfer order line receiving
  10. Transfer order line receiving and put away
  11. Transfer order item receiving
  12. Transfer order item receiving and put away
  13. Report as finished
  14. Report as finished and put away
For these activity codes, triggering the sample collection and registering the test results (in addition to the configuration described later in this document) is strictly connected with the setup defined in the Advanced quality associations. If the configuration indicates that a sample must be created for a specific process, then the user can collect this sample. In the same way, if the system is configured to create an advanced quality order, it becomes possible to register the test results for that order.
However, if the quality order is created only after the sample is taken, then the form to register the test results is not triggered.

New activity codes that enable handling of samples and quality orders.

  1. Change batch information - this menu item is used to modify critical batch parameters, specifically allowing for the update of Manufacturing date and update of Expiration Date.
  2. Register test results - this menu item is used to formally capture and record the outcomes of quality tests against defined specifications, ensuring that batch data is validated before inventory release. This process records a single result for the entire controlled quantity.
  3. Change license plate disposition - this menu item allows users to update the Disposition code (linked to the Batch disposition master) for inventory stored on specific license plates, facilitating precise control over inventory availability and supporting the Automatic release of license plates process.
  4. Set sample status - this menu item is used to update the current lifecycle stage of a quality sample record, providing real-time visibility and tracking of samples from creation through testing to final disposal Set Sample type Status
  5. Create sample - this menu item is used to initiate the generation of unique records for physical samples, enabling the system to track these units throughout the Advanced Quality Control workflow.
  6. Move sample type - this functionality is designed for the physical relocation of sub-samples within the warehouse or laboratory using a mobile device. It ensures that the digital record of a sample’s location matches its physical position at all times.
  7. Add test results - this menu item is derived from the Register test results function. Unlike this feature, which records a single result for the entire controlled quantity, Add test results enables the registration of multiple outcomes. This functionality requires a subsequent manual step to assign specific quantities to each recorded result, allowing for granular quality reporting of heterogeneous batches.
