Power Platform Solution Installation Guide

Prerequisites

Environment Access: Ensure you have admin or maker permissions in the target environment

Solution File: Obtain the [.zip] file of the solution.

Dependencies: Verify that all required connectors, flows, and apps are available or can be installed.

Licensing: Confirm users have appropriate Power Apps/Power Automate licenses.

Steps to Install
  1. Sign in to Power Platform Admin Center
  1. Navigate to Solutions
  • In the left menu, select Solutions.
  • Click Import.
  1. Upload Solution File
  • Choose the [.zip] file of the solution.
  • Click Next.
  1. Review and Configure
  • Check for any missing dependencies.
  • Configure environment variables if prompted (e.g., API keys, URLs).
  • Select Overwrite or Update options if upgrading an existing solution.
  1. Import
  • Click Import.
  • Wait for the process to complete (status will show as Succeeded or Failed).

Installation Guide for Resco Woodford in Power Platform

  1. Preparation
  • Ensure you have System Administrator access to your Power Platform environment.
  • Download the appropriate Resco solution: either Woodford for Dynamics 365 Online or the full Resco Suite from Resco’s official download page.
  1. Install the Resco Solution
  • Go to https://make.powerapps.com/ and sign in as a system administrator.
  • Select the environment where you want to install the solution.
  • Navigate to Solutions in the left panel.
  • Click Import solution, choose the downloaded .zip file, and complete the import.
  • Click Publish all customizations to activate the solution components.
  1. Create and Publish Your Woodford Project
  • In Woodford, go to App Projects.
  • Choose one of the options:
    - New: Create a new project from a template.
    - Import Power App: Convert an existing model-driven app from Power Platform.
    - Import: Use a [.woodford] file.
    - Clone: Duplicate an existing project.
  • Follow the wizard: set the name, select roles for access, and choose a template or conversion mode.
  • Complete the import/conversion and click Publish to activate the app project.
  1. Run the App on Mobile
  • Download Resco Mobile CRM from App Store or Google Play.
  • Open the app and connect to your Dataverse data using the same URL, user account, and roles configured in Woodford.
  • The app will sync based on your published app project.

Guide: Importing a Model-Driven App into Resco Woodford on Power Platform
  1. Prerequisites
  • Make sure the Resco Suite solution (managed solution) is installed in your Power Platform environment and all customizations are published.
  • You need System Administrator or equivalent permissions to import and manage app projects in Woodford.
  1. Open Woodford in Power Platform
  • Go to make.powerapps.com, sign in, and select the correct environment.
  • Navigate to Solutions → select Resco Suite.
  • Open Woodford via: MobileCRM → Woodford.
  1. Import the Model-Driven App
  • In Woodford, go to App Projects in the admin menu.
  • Click Import Power Apps (or Import PowerApp).
  • Select the desired model-driven app from the list of available Power Platform apps.
  • Woodford automatically creates a new app project with the same site map (home screen). Incompatible elements are skipped, and you’ll get warnings for adjustments.
  1. Assign Security Roles
  • Choose one or more security roles that should have access to the app project.
  • Users with these roles will automatically get access to the app in Resco Mobile CRM.
  1. Edit the Project (Optional)
  • After import, you can customize:
    - Home screen (site map)
    - Included tables/entities, especially for offline use
    - Views, forms, dashboards, charts
    - Business logic like rules, scripts, workflows
  1. Publish the Project
  • When editing is complete, click Publish to activate the app project.
  1. Test on Mobile
  • Install Resco Mobile CRM on your iOS, Android, or Windows device.
  • Open the app, enter your Power Platform URL, and sign in with a user assigned to the correct security role.
  • Under "Settings" select App Cepheo Asset Management
  • The app will sync with the backend and download the project and offline data.
