The parameters form is used to define the global company. Click Area Page node: Global data management -> Setup -> Parameters:

  • Global data company: Defines the company that acts as a data warehouse hosting the master data being replicated to the other companies selected in the Management form (Global data management -> Common -> Management)
  • Recreate the Record updates asynchronously: When changing settings in the Selection management form for a table, the ‘Record updates’ for the table will automatically be regenerated to reflect the new settings. This operation will lock the user session until the regeneration is finished, and in some cases, if a table holds a lot of data, this might be time consuming or even cause the session to timeout. By enabling this parameter, this operation is done asynchronously in the background instead of locking the user session.
  • Improved performance: Enables optimization of the GDM synchronization process for better performance
  • Minimize Record updates: Reduces the number of record updates created for tables with the manual push type setup. This allows improving the performance. When the setting is “Yes”, record updates would not be pre-initialized as long as there’s only manual definition in place. As soon as a record has been synchronized to a local company, its record update would appear on the list and will be kept. This functionality would not create nor delete already existing record updates when turned on - it requires running the Recreate company records job to do that. When introduced/used for the 1st time, administrator has to run "Update triggers" task in GDM module to rebuild SQL triggers on configured tables.
  • Multiple datasources on forms: enables support for multi-data source management on system pages. Setting this to “Yes” would change the landscape of the Global Data Management tab in forms - all available datasources would be presented for data push/pull and record updates review. It allows managing different tables around particular datasource without navigating to Global Data Managemen/Management. Setting “No” would revert to original view presenting only the primary datasource for the form
  • Pull after create or edit: Choose how a pull should be handled after creating or editing global data. Available options are ‘Ask’, ‘Pull’ or ‘Don’t pull’.
  • Maximum batch threads: Specify maximum number of threads for the 'Batch push data - multi-threaded' job. If the parameter is left blank, then all available threads will be utilized.
  • Keep batch job running: When enabled, then the 'Batch push data' jobs will continue processing the waiting record updates for the current company, even if a critical error occurs on one record during synchronization. If disabled, then the synchronization of records for the company where a critical error occurs will stop, and the job will continue to waiting records for next company.
  • Logging enabled: When logging is enabled, then the errors and warnings during synchronization will be stored in a log table and presented in the GDM monitoring workspace for follow-up and correction of synchronization issues.

Once the Global data company field has been selected it cannot be edited unless all entries in the Management form (Global data management > Common > Management) are removed.

Ideally the global data company should not hold any transactions.
