The concept of automatic reporting as finished for sub/reference productions, is introduced to support sceneries of continuous production for multiple production/batch orders combined in a hierarchy (Mix pool).

The scenarios are:

One or more production/batch orders are producing finished products, and consuming raw materials and bulk products.

One or more production/batch orders are producing bulk product, and consuming raw material.

We want to perform reporting as finished for finished products only.

We want to perform reporting as finished of the quantity being produced, also if the quantity does not match the planned/started quantity (over/surplus- and under-production)

The reporting as finished for bulk products and consumption of raw materials, must follow the reporting as finished for finished product automatically, also if the quantity does not match the planned/started quantity (over/surplus and under-production)

For a BOM/Formula line that is a BOM/Formula itself, it is possible to setup, whether the functionality of automatic reporting as finished for sub productions is wanted or not.

When performing 'Reporting quantity as finished' for a FP production, using the automatic BOM consumption principle, the consumption of next level product (Bulk) will automatically report the bulk product as finished, if a released production of the bulk exists in the same 'Mix pool' as the FP. A 'Bulk' product can be any BOM/Formula/Co-product that is used in another BOM/Formula and is not limited to be the product stated as the BULK product on a formula version.

The same functionality for automatic 'Reporting as finished' is available when manually posting a production order picking list journal, including a BOM line setup for "Automatic reporting as finished".

Usage of the automatic reporting as finished functionality for sub productions (Bulk), is available when performing reporting as finished for production/batch orders using the following interfaces:

Reporting as finished from a production/batch order directly.

Reporting as finished using Manufacturing execution terminals.

Reporting as finished using the Dynamics 365 operations Warehousing app.

If other raw or packaging material is going to be automatically consumed by use of automatic consumption when reporting as finished is performed, the BOM/Formula lines in question must be setup with flushing principle as 'Finished'.
