Packaging management for carriers

If you wish to use the packaging framework for a shipping carrier (TMS carrier), you must go to [Warehouse management / Setup / Shipping carriers] and select "Packaging management / Set up" for setting up the site and warehouse information for the shipping carrier.

When setting up a service for a Shipping carrier a unique 'Mode of delivery' is created that is a combination of the Shipping carrier and the service. This Mode of delivery can then be setup on the customer, this will default it to the sales order or set it up directly on the sales order, which will fill in the carrier account for the order. Standard the WHS shipping carrier would be selected during the Transportation process (when rate shopping), but to 'calculate' the Shipping packaging for the combination of Order account and the products we need the information before the packing slip update is carried out.

NOTE: To delete a setup of a packaging address on a carrier account just use 'Alt + F9' to delete record.

When creating a sale- or purchase order, the Shipping carrier information will be transferred to the order, via the mode of delivery for the order in question. If changing the mode of delivery for an order, the carrier information for the order will be changes as well according to the updated Mode of delivery.

Note: If you want to settle against a carrier, you need to setup the carrier as a Vendor and add the vendor account on the Shipping carrier form.
